2023 J. B Stevenson Scholarship Winner

ASPA membership extends August 1 through July 31. However, your publication or broadcast staff may join at any time by filling out an ASPA membership form.
Membership allows your staff to receive ASPA publications and services and to participate in ASPA’s critique and judging service. ASPA membership also entitles your staff to receive discounted registration fees for the ASPA state convention and summer camp.
The membership fee is $25 per year, per staff.
ASPA also encourages members to becomes members of the Southern Interscholastic Press Association by filling out SIPA’s membership form.
Congratulations to this year’s J.B. Stevenson Scholarship recipient, Tess Warren from Sparkman High School.
The Alabama Press Association established the J. B. Stevenson Scholarship to recognize and encourage young students to pursue a career in journalism. The organization said that Warren exhibits a talent for writing, and her passion is evident in her work.
In response to winning the scholarship, Warren said, “I am so honored to be chosen for the J. B. Stevenson Scholarship. I am truly passionate about journalism and the power a shared story holds. I am so excited that I get to use the money to help further my studies in journalism.”
Tess would like to thank her teacher, Erin Coggins, and her staff and family for supporting her.
“They all inspire my passions and are excited with me to see what my future in journalism holds.”
